One month after announcing her retirement from acting, Amanda Bynes has decided to become “unretired”. Her announcement was cryptic and without (public) reasoning. The 24 year old not only took to the twitterverse to recant her departure from the world of acting, but to release a trailer for her upcoming film Easy A. In June, Bynes admitted that she was less than pleased with the lack of depth in the characters currently occupying her resume.


Since the June tweet, there have been quite a few Amanda Bynes fans that have surfaced and sent love and heart ache regarding the retirement. Maybe this will be a call for the powers that be to challenge the actress with characters that are less transparent and singular in dimension. Or maybe, the wakeup call will be to Bynes to acquire a coach and add layers and depth to her craft. Granted, All That, What I Like About You, What a Girl Wants, Hairspray & The Amanda Bynes Show had their places in entertainment history, but those fans have matured and/or moved on the next tween “it” girl.


The Maxim girl, who previously stated that she lost the love she once had for the craft, has found at least like for it once again. No word on any new projects has been made public at this time. Bynes is not the first (nor will she be the last) celebrity to retire and then pull an about face.
