This past Saturday, via her Twitter account, Amanda Bynes announced that she was leaving the business of acting. Her last, known project will be the high school “Easy A” which is slated for release in September. Bynes stated that, "Being an actress isn't as fun as it may seem” and goes on to say, "If I don't love something anymore, I stop doing it. I don't love acting anymore, so I've stopped doing it." The 24 year old who got her start on the Nickelodeon network via the show, ‘All That’ moved on to her own show ‘the Amanda Bynes Show’ and then ‘What I Like About You’. Bynes has starred in ‘What A Girl Wants’ and ‘Hairspray’ as well. Bynes further commented on her micro blog, “"I've never written the movies & TV shows I've been a part of. I've only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play”.
Amanda did not reveal what her next career move, etc would be, but with (admitted) idols such as Angelina Jolie and Marilyn Monroe, there are many possibilities as to where she will go now. Also, since the announcement came via Twitter, there may be a bit of backtracking in the future. This has been known to happen in the twitterverse. More recent example, Nicki Minaj’s day long ‘name change’.
