Beginning next week, Charlie Sheen will return to Aspen, plead guilty to 3rd degree assault and be immediately taken into custody. Although the actor had been given a choice between incarceration and probation, he chose 17 days behind bars. The original sentence was a jail term of 30 days, but was reduced to the holiday of 17 days due to good time credit. The felony menacing charge will be dismissed at the time that Sheen enters his plea as well. Sheen must complete 36 hours of anger management before the hearing which is scheduled for next Monday. According to sources close to the star, he has but a mere 10 hours left to complete. Upon release, Sheen will have no further obligation to the courts (regarding this matter). I must also note that 2 of the 17 days will be what are considered, minimal. This means that Sheen may actually serve 15 days (1/2 of the original sentence).
The charges stem from the Christmas 2009 altercation with his wife Brooke Mueller. Sheen was originally arrested on charges of felony menacing, 3rd degree assault and criminal mischief (a misdemeanor). Sheen was release from jail after posted a bond of $8,500. In February, the TV star entered rehab, willingly, following his wife’s stent in rehab.
For all parties involves, let us hope that this is the final page in this saga’s chapter.
